Seasonal Field Assistant

 Under the direction of the Field Supervisors (FS), the Field Assistant (FA) is responsible for all tasks assigned in support of the District’s daily field operations.
The  Field Assistant provides support on various projects and assists the Vector Control Technicians in their daily mosquito and vector surveillance and control work. Duties include but are not limited to: performing service requests, mosquito surveillance, and mosquito control work associated with catch basins and ponds.
 

This position requires a 40 hour work week, Monday-Friday. Hours may vary according to daily work schedule. Overtime work may be required.This is a full-time seasonal position, not to exceed 1500 hours per calendar year.
Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Routine mosquito control and surveillance operations
  • Assisting with service requests
  • Collecting mosquitofish
  • Assisting in maintenance of equipment, vehicles and grounds
  • Responding to service requests pertaining to yellowjackets and performing yellowjacket control

The starting hourly pay rate for the position is $23.00 and increases with each season of service to a current maximum of $27/hour in year five.

MSMVCD will be performing background checks on applicants.
